About Your Teacher
Christine Goodner began her studies on the violin as a Suzuki student before the age of 3. She performed on both the violin & viola all the way through High School and College on both instruments: in her high school orchestra, the Metropolitan Youth Symphony, and the PSU Symphony before starting her family.
Mrs. Goodner has taught on the faculty of the Community Music Center, Northwest Chamber Camp, Gymboree Play & Music and Valley Catholic's Music School (2002 - 2012). Christine currently runs her own studio in Hillsboro, OR.
In addition, to her studio Chritsine is co-director of Summer Strings & Woodwind Camp, Suzuki Early Childhood Education Classes & serves as President on the board of the Oregon Suzuki Association (OSA). Christine is passionate about teaching students & helping them achieve their musical goals as well as collaborating with other teachers and with the parents in her studio.
Education: Christine holds a 4 year degree in the field of Early Childhood Education and has completed extensive violin teacher training in Books 1-10 from the Suzuki Association of the Americas (SAA). She is an Active member of the American String Teachers Association (ASTA) as well as the OSA & SAA. Christine enjoys sharing her experiences as a teacher and parent: she writes regularly on her blog, has had a video featured in the SAA's Parents as Partners video series and has had an article published in the American Suzuki Journal.
